Kazakhstan & India — Relations Gain Momentum Through Culture & Economic Cooperation
Kazakhstan and India are broadening their longstanding partnership through a growing mix of cultural diplomacy, economic engagement and people-to-people cooperation. Kazakhstan’s participation in India’s BRICS activities has provided another platform for advancing collaboration beyond traditional areas of trade and investment, with cultural exchange, digitalisation, artificial intelligence, sustainable development and connectivity emerging as important areas of common interest. Kazakhstan has also been strengthening engagement with Indian states, including Tamil Nadu, where discussions have focused on expanding trade, investment and business partnerships in sectors such as engineering, energy, healthcare, education and technology. Preparations for a Kazakhstan–India Business, Trade and Investment Forum in Chennai further underline the emphasis on stronger commercial links.
At the cultural level, exchanges between the two countries continue to reinforce mutual understanding. India’s Independence Day celebrations in Astana, featuring Indian cultural performances and the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative, highlighted the role of cultural institutions and community participation in strengthening bilateral friendship. Together, these developments reflect an increasingly multidimensional Kazakhstan–India relationship, connecting diplomacy with business, culture, technology and society.
