The meeting formed part of President Tokayev’s diplomatic engagements during the BRICS gathering, where Kazakhstan participated as a BRICS partner country. Personal Message from President Trump

At the beginning of the talks, Sergio Gor delivered a personal message from President Donald Trump congratulating President Tokayev ahead of the 35th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s Independence. Tokayev thanked the U.S. President for the message and reaffirmed his invitation for Trump to visit Kazakhstan. The invitation follows continuing high-level contacts between Astana and Washington, including a phone conversation between the two presidents in July, during which bilateral political and economic cooperation was discussed. President Tokayev highlighted what he described as the dynamic development of the Enhanced Strategic Partnership between Kazakhstan and the United States and stressed the importance of translating bilateral dialogue into practical outcomes. Tokayev also referred to his planned participation in the G20 Summit in Miami, describing the gathering as another opportunity to address issues on the Kazakhstan–U.S. bilateral agenda. He emphasized Kazakhstan’s interest in achieving tangible results and taking practical steps to advance cooperation. For his part, Gor said close contacts between the leadership of the two countries had contributed to strengthening bilateral relations. He also pointed to developing trade and economic ties and said the U.S. administration attaches importance to its partnerships with Kazakhstan and the wider Central Asian region.

These fields are becoming increasingly prominent in Kazakhstan’s international partnerships as the country seeks to expand its technology ecosystem and digital economy. The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their intention to broaden the multifaceted Kazakhstan–U.S. partnership and give additional momentum to mutually beneficial cooperation across strategic and emerging sectors.
